The new deadman

Zeeva tossed around in her cell. Sleep never came anymore and there were slight bags under her eyes. Her whole body ached from being bullied and pushed around. She barely called it living anymore. Suddenly a man came and grabbed her by the arm, "Come with me.."

She squirmed, trying to pull away. "Stop, I don't want to go! Ow! That's sore!" She whimpered, her eyes clenched tight as a few more men came around. "You're infected." A voice called as he pushed her into another room after a long walk, "Enjoy your stay in Cell Block G."

"Wait!" She called out, tears in her eyes, "I didn't do it!" Her voice was desperate, but the doors were closed. "It's not fair.. My trial.. everything."

At least you still have me.. Cackled a voice in the back of her head. But she ignored Skythe. The sicko only got her in more trouble. She wiped her eyes and sighed. "I just want to go home.."

Senji is training in his own cell once he hears the commotion. Smiling wryly he steps outside of the cell and makes his way through the Block,

"Looks like we have a new arrival..."

He scans the area for a new person and spots them, well her to be exact. He hears her mutter something about home and leans against her door frame,

"This is home for all of us now... Once you come to G, Deadman or not... You're stuck."

Zeeva snapped her head up and blinked a few times. She didn't want her tears to be seen as she quickly rubbed away the wet streaks. "Deadman? What are deadman?" Her eyes were soft and confused.

"I don't want this to be my home." She suddenly huffed. "I'm not supposed to be here!"

"That's right. We all aren't supposed to be here..." He clasps a hand on his chin and says,

"Deadmen, are you and me. We can use our blood as weapons to kill, defend, or protect. And since you're on Death Row... My guess is that you chose kill."

Zeeva puffed up her cheeks and stared at him a moment, then exhaled slowly, deciding not to yell. "I didn't kill anyone." She muttered quickly. "My trial was rigged. I'm not here fairly."

Well you would have been here eventually

Shut up Skythe!!

"Even so... Did your cop see you use the Branch of Sin?"

Zeeva looked like she got punched in the face. She'd never heard of it before but.. could it be that weird power. "That's it.. isn't it then.." She pulled one knee up and chewed on her lip. "Hardly fair.. Because someone's different.."

Senji chuckles and shakes his head,

"Bastard set you up! Lawyer did nothing, Jury was ruthless... You're just another victim of Deadman Wonderland... And guessing by those bruises, the other prisoners had their ways with you more than once. Am I right?"

Zeeva stared silently, "Had their way.. if you mean beat me up and took my CP then yes..." She rubbed her arms and shook her head, "This place is sick." Little did she know the rest of the sickness that awaited cell block G.

Senji looks at her, his carefree expression now that of a serious man,

"You don't know the half of it little birdie. We're all stuck in this cage, trying to fight it always ends in failure and torture... Or if you're lucky, Death."

Zeeva stood up, her skirt falling to her ankles with slits to her hips, but covered in a sort of roman style. "Wait.. we fight? Fight who?" Her eyes narrowed further. "And.. it's to the death I assume?"

Senji looks down at her and his face reddens slightly, he never expected to see this. He turns his back on her and covers his eyes,

"P-please, Miss! Cover yourself! Your outfit is far too risque."

Zeeva blinked and looked down, "T-Too risky? What are you talking about You can barely see any of my skin and besides have you seen what some people wear?" She vented. It was true all you could see was a bit of her ribs on the sides of her breastplate and that too was covered more than not by her red cloak. She was venting. It felt as if he had just called her a whore.

"Yes I have, and I tell them all the same thing! Young ladies do not need to parade themselves around like that!"

Zeeva crossed her arms and scowled, "So I look like a whore.. is that what you're saying?!"

"No, no. I respect women too much to call them such a terrible name. I respect them so much that I cant stand to see exposed flesh!"

Zeeva facepalmed, "Sheesh.. what if you get married someday?" She sighed and wrapped her cloak around somehow, but felt incredibly stupid in doing so. "There.. I'm in your opinion decent."

He chuckles and peeks around to make sure she is descent,

"Well, that will never happen... Ever... Be careful where you go, this place is full of sa-"

Senji is cut off by an announcement,

"The next Carnival Corpse will be in ten minutes! Crow and Sparrow please make your way to the arena!"

"....Shit."

Zeeva's ears perked. Sparrow? Who the hell is sparrow? "What's the carnival thing it's blabbering about?" Her eyes were glued on Senji. "What's your name anyways?"

He frowns and places his hands on his hips,

"You're Sparrow... I'm Crow... The Carnival Corpse is a Deadman fighting arena. Winner gets cp, loser plays the punishment game..."

"Whoa.. whoa.. wait a minute. I don't want to fight.. I don't want to fight you.. I don't want to fight anyone.." Zeeva pulled back and shook her head.

Senji is about to explain to her but two guards come to 'escort' them both to the Carnival Corpse,

"Looks like we don't have a choice, Sparrow. You better pray that they don't torture you for trying to deny it."

Zeeva hesitated, but followed the guards as they 'escorted' her. More of prodding and stabbing her already sore body. She groaned.

If you really don't want to d this.. let me take over... Skythe suggested in a dark and cold tone.

No.. I'm not letting you in control.. you do bad things....

Zeeva steeped into the matchring and winced. Swallowing difficultly, she knew she had no other choice. She had to fight. Fight to live.... or fight to die.
