Meeting a New Prisoner.

Alexander sits alone in a section of the Cell Block, playing himself in a game of chess. After he makes a move on the side of smoke, he rotates the board and makes another move on the side of flames. It almost always ends up in a draw. The prisoners that walk by him gawk and mutter names about him behind his back but he only shrugs them off, getting into a fight now would not be worth half of the trouble of the aftermath. Fighting without probable cause almost always leads to torture in cases with him because he does more damage than necessary.

Alex adjusts his mask before rotating the board to ensure that his oxygen does not leak out and his raspy breathing can be heard by the other people around him. Some get annoyed but say nothing, and others shout obscene names.

Stay.... Calm...

Aerona watches him from a dark corner, giggling softly as she rocks back and forth.

Alex stops playing once he hears the female giggles and looks in her direction, spotting her in the corner, rocking back and forth. He has heard of her, not from personal experience but much rathre from the internal grapevine. Aerona... She is a murderer, right? He cannot remember... Instead of finishing his game he turns in her direction, placing his hands on his lap and watching her a she watches him. Waiting to see if she will break his gaze.

Aerona halts her mad rocking and laughter when Alex begins to stare at her. She hated it when people looked at her, it made her feel highly uneasy; as though they were challenging her. She stared back, unwavering.

"It's impolite to stare, Miss..."

"Miss nothing. I'm no 'miss' while I'm in this hellhole." Aerona looked down and mumbled. "Never was a 'miss' anyway..."

"Oh really? What should I call you then?"

"Aerona, I guess. What about you, do you have a name?"

"Depends... What name would you like?"

"Any old name, it doesn't matter to me."

"Fine then, Alexander."

"Alexander..." she repeated, gazing blindly past him. "Alexander...Alex....Alexa...Ali..."

"Having fun?"

Aerona re-focused on him and grinned. "Not in the slightest."

"What brings you to this hell?"

Aerona immediately became (somewhat) serious. "I went crazy" she said, tapping at her head. "And then I..." she paused, smiling slowly. "I killed people."

"How many?"

"Oh, I don't know... around 20 perhaps..."

"That's quite a number..."

"Yes, I suppose it is." she sighed. "That's why I'm here."

"Death Row?"

"That's what I've been told." Aerona huffed. "I suppose I don't really care though."

"Do you have Candy?"

She tilts her head to the side. "Why would I have a thing like that here?"

He chuckles,

"If you don't eat one candy every three days you're going to die!"
